Fisher is Now Fisher Construction Group
–Dan Powers, President and CEO of Fisher Companies announced today that Fisher & Sons will now be called Fisher Construction Group. In July the Burlington, Washington based company will mark its fortieth anniversary as a general contractor.
Along with the updated name, the company has refreshed its look and adopted a new tagline ‘Design > Build > Equip > Perform.’ The decision to make the change grew out of the retirement of Fisher family members and the ever expanding range of services the company has come to include.
“Today, our company offers a full array of construction services. Along with the general contracting services we've been known for since 1975, we also offer engineering and architectural capabilities, civil and site construction, and process engineering and installation," says Dan Powers. “The new name came about because we’ve grown to offer customers so much more.”
With this growth in expertise, the company has transitioned from a family business to an employee-owned corporation. Dan Powers joined Fisher in 1997 and has led the management team since 2011. The company is owned by 18 employee shareholders, all of whom work for Fisher. While Bob Fisher's descendants have retired from the company’s leadership, the founding values remain the same: Build long term relationships and following customers as they grow their companies.
Nationally, Fisher has developed a leading reputation in the food processing and food storage industries. In order to meet industry demands, the company has added process management engineers with extensive experience in food processing and food safety.
Having built more than 150 buildings in Skagit and the surrounding counties, relationships started here led Fisher to build projects in ten states, and two Canadian provinces. The company is currently building a 220,000 sf distribution hub in Skagit County for FedEx, a relationship that started more than 10 years ago. Fisher Construction Group’s portfolio includes commercial (including retail, professional, and mixed use), industrial manufacturing, and food processing and storage with revenues of nearly $180 M out of the Burlington office in 2014. More than 50 of the company’s employees live in Skagit County; some working for the company for 20 to 30 years.
Fisher Construction Group, along with Fisher's Seattle division, JTM Construction, consistently rank among the top 10 general contractors in Washington state by revenue.
